About the Workshop
In 2024, Ethọ́s Lab and Museum of Anthropology launched a new display called Atlanthos: Youth-Driven Innovation Through Afrofuturistic Storytelling. This world-building project was driven by the creative minds of eleven teenagers who learned to ground their storytelling in African culture and history.
In this interdisciplinary workshop, students will explore an intersection of STEAM and culture. They will use knowledge and inspiration from MOA’s African collection, including Atlanthos, to design their own meaningful works.
This workshop will be delivered by facilitators from Ethọ́s Lab.
Recommended grades: 5–7

Times: 10:00-12:00pm or 12:30-2:30pm
Fees: $425 (includes museum admission and taxes)
In this workshop, students will:

Develop ideation, prototyping, and testing skills through intentional design of cultural belongings.
